Stylized Lesser Banishing Ritual Of the Pentagram

NOTE: The Pentagram is an ancient symbol for earth and has been used in magic crafts the world over since the beginning of civilization. Much like the Cross and other sacred symbols, it has no root, foundation or association with evil. It’s bastardization and inverted form with two rays of the star pointing up was used to denote Satanism and evil just like the inverted cross does. This was done to intimidate people and to defile a sacred symbol. 

Example A) Pentagram( One ray of the star pointing up)= Humanities Union with the Divine, Earth and sky, Union with the creator, purity, Protection, the sacredness of nature and life, balance and positive symbol for magic and witchcraft.

 

Example: B) Inverted Pentagram=Evil, Black Magic and Satanism, negative connotations, the perversion and defilement of the sacred and its upright position. Similar to an upside down cross defiling the Christ and all Christ based religions. 

The Qabalistic Rituals written here were taken from the Book “Self-Initiation Into The Golden Dawn Tradition” written by Chic & Sandra Tabatha Cicero. 

I have, elected to alter The Lesser Banishing Ritual Of The Pentagram (LBRP) by adding to it the directions of “ABOVE” and “BELOW” and also by adding the corresponding names of GOD and Archangels. I also changed the visualization of the Archangel Michael from Right to Left because if I am facing Eastward, the North (The Direction The Archangel Michael governs.) would be to my left. It is the Archangel Uriel who would be to my Right in the South. I also name the Archangels by their complete names to keep the ritual as formal as possible.  I find that the minor alterations that I made, empowers my ritual work in terms of the manifestation and the longevity of the energies conjured and invoked.

The Qabalistic Cross (QC)

Stand and face the East. Imagine / visualize a Brilliant white Light. Try to feel this light. Feel this white light touching the top of your head. Reach up with your right index finger, Athame or wand and connect with that light. Feel the connection with this white light and trace it down to your third eye chakra / forehead chanting or vibrating slowly the word “ATAH” (Translation of the word / “Thou art”).

Touch your heart / chest area with your left hand, then Trace the white Light down with your index finger, Athame or wand towards your heart or chest area visualizing the white light coming down all the way to the ground in front of you and chant / vibrate slowly the word “MAL-KOOTH” (Translation of the word / “The kingdom”).

From your heart / chest area, trace the white Light your still strongly visualizing to your right shoulder chanting / vibrating the word “VEH-GEH-BURAH”(Translation of the word / “and the power”).

From your right shoulder trace the white Light to your left shoulder chanting / vibrating the word “VE-GEH-DOO-LAH”(Translation of the word / “and the glory”).

Slowly move both your hands outward, away from the body. Then finally bring them inward together over your heart / chest area as if praying and chant / vibrate the word “LEE-OH-LAHM, AMEN”(Translation of the word / “forever, unto the ages”).

THE LESSER BANISHING RITUAL OF THE PENTAGRAM

Facing East, use the index finger of the right hand, a dagger /Athame, or the black end of the outer wand of double power to trace a large banishing pentagram of earth in the air directly in front of you. Then thrust your index finger, dagger / Athame or wand through the center of the pentagram to charge the symbol and chant / vibrate the word “YHVH” (YODE-HEH-VAH HEH). (The pentagram should be visualized as a flaming blue or brilliant white light.) 

Turn the South. Trace the same pentagram, charge it in the same manner and chant / vibrate the word “ADONAI” (AH-DOH-NYE).

Turn to the West. Trace the same pentagram, charge it in the same manner and chant / vibrate the word “EHEIEH” (EH-HEY-YAY). 

Turn to the North. Trace the same pentagram, charge it in the same manner and chant / vibrate the word “AGLA” (AH-GAH-LAH).

 

Look above you. Trace the same pentagram above your head, charge it in the same manner and chant / vibrate the word “IOEL” (EYE-OH-EL). 

Look below you. Trace the same pentagram below you, just before your feet, charge it in the same manner and chant / vibrate the word “Adonai Melech (AH-DOE-NYE, MEH-LECH).”  (The "CH" is a guttural sound as in the German "ach" or the Scottish "loch").

Look within yourself. Trace the pentagram over your chest area and touch the center of the Pentagram and chant / vibrate “TETRAGRAMMATON” (TET-TRAH-GRAH-MAH-TONE).

Keep your right arm extended. 

Turn to face the EAST. Extend both arms now outward in the form of a cross and say “Before me, Archangel Raphael Ruachel (RAH-FAY-EL ROO-AH-CHEL).” (The "CH" is a guttural sound as in the German "ach" or the Scottish "loch"). Feel the wind and air come towards you as you visualize the great Archangel of air, mercury and healing draped in flowing Yellow and violet Robes carrying a Caduceus Wand. 

Behind you (WEST) visualize another figure and say “Behind me Archangel Gabriel Levanael (GAH-BREE-EL, LEH-VAH-NAY-EL).” Feel the water and moisture in the air as you visualize Gabriel stepping out of the Sea clad in robes of Blue and Orange with a chalice in hand.

To your left (NORTH) visualize another figure in flaming red and green robes with a gleaming sword and say “To my Left hand, the Archangel Michael Shemeshel (MEE-CHAY-EL, SHEH-MESH-EL).” (The "CH" is a guttural sound as in the German "ach" or the Scottish "loch"). 

To your Right (SOUTH) visualize another figure who rises up from the vegetation of the earth in robes of citrine, olive, russet and black holding stems of ripened wheat. Then say “To my right hand, Archangel Uriel Aretziel. (YOU-REE-EL, AH-RET-SEE-EL).” 

Above you, visualize another figure who clad in blazing white opalescent Light robes with a book in hand and say “Above me, The Archangel Metatron Ketheriel (MEH-TAH-TROHN, KETH-EE-REE-EL).”

Below you, visualize another figure draped in brilliant gold and light brown robes surrounded by cornucopia horns crowned with grape leaves then say “Below me, The Archangel Sandalphon Malkuthiel” (SAHN-DOLL-FAWN, MAHL-KOOTH-EE-EL). 

Visualize a great sphere of white light surrounding you and the powers you have summoned coming directly from the Universe into you and say, “For about me flames the pentagram, and in the column shines the six rayed star.”

Repeat the Qabalistic Cross.
